Ms. Vickie Nelson Public Speaking, Journalism & Photography Teacher For me, Women's History Month is a time to remember and celebrate all the women that came before us who battled great odds in order to create a world where women are allowed to achieve greatness. Because learning never ends, I have started working on my 2nd Master's degree in Visual Communication.

Ms. Traci Young 8th Grade ELA When I was a student at Crisfield High School, I remember that the male teachers were paid more than the female teachers. This was hard for me to understand, since the female teachers worked just as hard and performed the same job duties. There were also many jobs that women were not allowed to do such as police officers, fire fighters, etc. As a teacher, I am grateful for those who brought about change to these practices. During this month, we recognize the women who paved the way for others to gain equality.

Ms. Ellie Winemiller Women’s history month means that we take the time out of our days to reflect and research the women that helped build America and make impacts. It is time to recognize current women making differences in current events personally, locally and nationally. For women to feel seen and appreciated. I'm very thankful for the strong women in history and in my current life as well.

Mrs. Cathy Tapman I am the IEP Clerk. Some of my duties include schedule meetings, send out Teacher Input Sheets and enter information into the meeting minutes for the caseworker, file paperwork, distribute IEP Snapshots at the beginning of the school year and when the semester changes and obtain teacher signature on Teacher's Receipt of SNAPSHOT, and attend IEP meetings and take notes. Women's history month is a reminder of the many women who existed before me to lay the building blocks of what accomplishments women have made to date. Women have gone unrecognized for major influential changes so having a month dedicated to recognizing all the hard work that's been done is important. It is a reminder to be grateful for the women in our history. I live in VA and have been married for 35 years. I have two children and five grandchildren and I am a 12-year cancer survivor.

Erin Walbert - 8th and 9th grade US History I and II Women’s History month represents all the strides women have made in US history. Women have only had the right to vote for about a quarter of our country’s total history, but have always been very influential ‘behind the scenes’. We’ve come a long way since the first settlers, but still have a ways to go to reach true equality. This month celebrates the victories and recognizes the goals we still aim to reach. 2024 CAHS Teacher of the Year, Women's soccer, Outdoor Track and Field Coach, and Recycling Club Advisor.
