Retiring are social studies teacher Mrs. Randi Merritt, 8th grade English teacher Ms. Traci Young, sign language interpreter Mrs. Sue Beaver, and cafeteria manager Mrs. Susan Corbin. (You will be missed!).
Also we learned that Mrs. Keisha Evans was named Instructional Support Associate of the Year and Mrs. Susan Corbin was named Food & Nutrition Services Associate of the Year for Somerset County! Congratulations!
Years of service recognitions included Ms. Traci Young and Mr. Randy Laird - 5 years; Mrs. Randi Merritt and Mr. David Simpson - 10 years; Mrs. Anna Breland and Mrs. Susan Corbin - 15 years, and Ms. Vestina Davis - 20 years!
We also sadly said goodbye to several staff who are leaving the county and we wish them the very best. Ms. Erin Walbert has taken a position in Caroline County to be closer to her family. Mr. Daquan Bimbo is moving to North Carolina, and Mrs. Jenn Daniels has accepted a position at Bennett High School. You will be missed!

📅 Reminder: All SCPS schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in observance of Juneteenth, a recognized state and federal holiday.
Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States and invites us to reflect on the ongoing pursuit of justice, resilience, and freedom—core ideals of the American promise.
