On April 9, 2025, Crisfield Academy and High School welcomed Tony Washington III to speak with our 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students. An Eastern Shore native and proud Nandua High School alumnus, Tony was a standout All-American football player who went on to play at Virginia Tech, and later achieved his dream of playing in the NFL—finishing his professional career with the Carolina Panthers.
Tony shared his powerful story and encouraged students to make positive life choices, stay focused in school, and always strive to be their best in pursuit of their dreams. We are grateful for his time, energy, and words of inspiration! 💪🏽🏈

We could not end this week without giving a huge shout-out, our thanks, and a round of applause for our assistant principal, Ms. Vestina Davis! We appreciate you Ms. Davis!

On Tuesday, April 8th, CAHS had 23 students travel to Liberty University for a college tour. The trip was scheduled due to the overwhelming interest of the students to visit Liberty University. We even had a waiting list because interest was so high. One of our goals this year was to provide students with opportunities see different schools and experience different possibilities outside of the eastern shore.

Exciting day as we sent our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Robin Ford off to the TOY Luncheon! Students lined the hallways to wish her well and she was met in the lobby by the CHS Band! Good luck Ms. Ford at tomorrow evening's Teacher of the Year Banquet!

Here is your CHS March Madness recap of events sponsored by the Learning Support Team! Winners of the brackets were Thomas Laird - 1st place,, and Emma Elliott and Caris Johnson - tied for 2nd place! They also featured a SHOOT FOR YOUR GOALS board and 2 students made their goals: Dayonna Merrill and Demo Davilla making their shots! Congratulations to all winners and great job LST!

Athletic Update: today's baseball game scheduled against Parkside will be played at Parkside at 4:00.
The softball game scheduled for today has been postponed to May 5th at 4:00 and will be played at Crisfield.

Yesterday April 8, 2025 CHS students traveled to Liberty University for a College Tour that was a success. 40 Miles after leaving Liberty University the charter bus they were traveling on broke down. Staff and Authorities quickly moved to action to make sure students were safe, sheltered, and comfortable. Parents were given a direct line to call the staff with the students and telephone calls were made to families. We want to Thank the Farmville, VA Police Department and Sheetz for supporting the group while they waited for another bus. Officers kept the area safe and Sheetz donated drinks etc to support the students. Everyone returned safely. We appreciate the patience, support and understanding from the parents and the students.
Please reach out to Mr. Taylor or school administration if you have any questions or concerns.
