The end of the year 9th grade field trip to Jolly Rogers will be on Thursday June 13th. The cost is $35. Students will need to bring money for lunch if they plan on eating lunch at the park. If students need a packed lunch from the school then they will need to indicate that on the permission slip. Permission slips are due on Thursday June 6th to Mrs. Amanda Thomas. Only the first 40 students who turn in money and permission slips will secure a spot for the trip.
The following stipulations are in place to attend the field trip.
A student has not served in school suspension (ISS), in school intervention (ISI), or out of school suspensions (OSS) for 4 weeks before the date of the trip (May 16th to June 13th).
A student has not received any referrals for 4 weeks before the date of the trip (May 16th to June 13th).
A student must be passing 2 of the 4 core subject classes.
Money is nonrefundable if students are not allowed to attend the field trip and have already paid.

We recognize Mr. Steven Corbin, IT
Mr. Corbin is a PC tech for the county. He doesn't only service CHS but also WES and wherever he may be needed, most likely the JMT building known as Board of Education (BOE). He said “I like walking the halls of CAHS because I have history here since I went to school here years ago. I have many memories. My wife (Cafeteria Manager Susan Corbin) and my daughter Grace Gray (Media Center Specialist) also went here and now work here so I get to see them often. Which brings up the fact that I saw all our 3 children go to school here. History is long that I have with the school and that means a lot. To the students he said “keep pushing until you reach the goal of being a graduate and who knows what else. Don't get discouraged if the road is long. If there are two ways of looking into something, examine both carefully. The decisions you make there will be with you the rest of your life.”

We also recognize Mr. David Simpson, Art Teacher
Teaching is ingrained in his DNA; he sees that teaching is at its finest when a student creates something in art greater than they ever did before and they know it, as it’s visible in their face and attitude. He also sees it as extraordinary when he gets to see the smile and the look in a student's eye when a student wins an award in a public show and that individual is awarded publicly for their artistic merit. This is what teaching means to Mr. Simpson. He loves that Crisfield High has a family culture and believes that it is the greatest school ever. Go Crabbers!

Today we recognize Mr. Andre Scholler, 8th Grade Math Teacher
I like watching the students grow up, graduate and become outstanding citizens. I am glad to be a part of that. It is my hope they will look back and see how far they have come and be able to use what we have taught them.

Attention students in need of service learning hours or those who just want to help clean up our town! See Ms. Walbert for more details!

Following Senior Awards, Mrs. Faith Daum announced senior plans and seniors stood with their respective college/military/workforce signs! Congratulations to all!

After having their group photo taken this morning, the Class of 2024 boarded the buses that carried them to Woodson Elementary School for their annual "Woodson Walkthrough." Lots of smiles and good memories!

J.T. Coleman
Head Custodian
He loves working at CAHS because he believes that the school is full of amazing staff that he enjoys working with.

Today we recognize:
Mr. Chase Duer
Science Teacher
I currently teach physical science and marine biology. I enjoy teaching to try to get younger people more interested in the sciences, and to realize that science is all around them every day.

To end the month of May, we are honoring all those folks we have not recognized this school year, whose contributions to CAHS are just as valuable! In no particular order, today we recognize Mr. Miguel Dodge!
Miguel Dodge
Science Teacher
Teaching has allowed me to impart some knowledge (hopefully some wisdom as well) that I wish I had known when I was in school. Getting to know so many young people with such a broad array of perspectives has afforded me the ability to grow in my understanding of the world we both share. My family made a lot of sacrifices to help give me opportunities that lead to a better life for their son (Thank you, Mom & Dad). Truly, I am blessed to live in the greatest country on Earth. I am very lucky to work with some really great Americans that challenge me to try my best everyday here at Crisfield Academy and High School.

The Senior Awards Program will be held this evening, Tuesday, May 21, at 7 pm in the auditorium. Senior Class Cap and Gown photo will be taken tomorrow morning. All seniors should bring their caps and gowns to school and report to the auditorium. Following the photo, there will be a senior meeting before boarding the bus for the Woodson Walkthrough.

What a great day for a visit to the Zoo!
